FAQ

For Churches/Organizations

As many as you like! Please submit individual project requests.
The best way to make use of your content is to share, share, share! Share strategically, creatively and multiple times for most impact. And encourage your staff and congregation to consider sharing the content as well!
With Testimony and Context content, we do not charge to produce videos for you. If you are outside of the Kanto region, we may request help with travel/lodging expenses. This may be shared if you consider partnering with other churches in your area who want to do project. For Advance/Promote Content, we do request that our transportation expenses be reimbursed. If a church is able to make an offering for this particular service, we would appreciate it as it helps us to further the ministry. It is not required though.
If you have special requests regarding music or special effects, those costs are born by the local church. We will do all we can to help make projects as cost-effective as possible.
Depending on the project type, we don’t usually need a lot from the pastor! We do request churches (whether the pastor or their representative) to fill out Project Requests. Video testimonies do not require much else from the pastor, except as you share the content. With Context and Advance/Promote content, partnership may be necessary in the Pre-Production and Filming Stages. You may consider delegating the project to a trusted individual in the church with whom you’ve discussed what you want to accomplish.
Japanese and English. We will make every effort to communicate well in Japanese, but please have patience with us!
GTAC retains the rights of the videos. However, you are free to download, embed and share all you want!
We share the Testimony and Context videos to our website, Youtube, and all the social media platforms we can.
Absolutely! It may require a little extra time to make preparations. For the most efficiency, please consider partnering with other churches—see if they would like to work on any projects. That way, we can make as many films in one trip as possible.
As far in advance as possible. It’s unlikely that we will be able to produce a video that you need for next week, unless we happen to have an opening. As far as possible, please plan to submit Project Requests about 2 months in advance.
Please feel free to share these videos as you like. You can embed them on your websites, share them on your social media platforms, share them in small group settings or church settings and even one-on-one with someone who you think this video will bless or encourage. There are lots of ways you can use this resource to both share the Gospel and encourage others!

For People who want to share their testimony

We understand filming may make you a bit nervous. That’s ok! We will do everything we can to make you (and the setting) comfortable. We do 3 types of filming—a conversation (no preparation necessary), a testimony reading (you can prepare if you feel necessary) and B-roll filming. B-roll is just you being you, doing what you do, with no words necessary! And should you make a mistake while filming—simply pause and start your sentence again. Don’t you wish we could edit in real life?
We prefer Pastors/Organization leaders (or their representative) to submit project requests. If the pastor designates you as their representative, that’s fine! We just need to know that. Media content is most effective when the leaders and organization as a whole are involved in the outcome.
The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. If the Japanese people are to come to Christ, they must hear the Gospel. In this day and age where people are engaging more online, this is a prime opportunity to reach people with the same message that changed your life. Sharing a testimony—though it sounds very official—is really just showing that work that God has done.
Well, what has God done in your life? Salvation and the Gospel message are at the core of the films, but God may be leading you to share about a healing, about an emotional breakthrough, freedom from unforgiveness or certain sins. Essentially, we want to share the actual Gospel message through it. But God’s grace and workings are manifold, and so may be the types of testimonies.
Usually on a church website, on this website, on Youtube, Instagram and Facebook and/or other social media platforms.
There are lots of ways to use your film. You can share it online, but also in messaging apps or in your Social Media stories. Consider telling people—this is the message that changed my life.
In making testimony films, we will do all that we can to ensure that the film represents you, and that it is something that is clear and simple, and that you can feel confident in sharing. We recognize that Japan is a society that guards personal things. However, the Gospel is not only personal for us, but is the power of God unto salvation—that power needs to be shared. There are many people in Japan who are looking for hope, all who need salvation—and your story may be what makes the difference in their eternity.

Testimony

It’s hard to name a certain time frame. Typically we spend a week or so preparing for filming. Filming is usually scheduled in 3 sessions of 2-4 hours each (no, you’re not talking the whole time! Much of it is us getting set up), scheduled within a 2 week period. Post-production (editing and sound) take a considerable amount of time and may vary depending on how soon we get responses from our drafts we send!
As far in advance as possible. It’s unlikely that we will be able to produce a video that you need for next week, unless we happen to have an opening. As far as possible, please plan to submit Project Requests about 2 months in advance.
First, the church/organization submits a Project Request. We respond with a time frame quote and some documents about the process. We usually have a video call to discuss further details and schedule filming. In a two-week window, we schedule three 2-4-hour windows to film in. Then the project goes into post-production (editing and sound). We send a draft of the video, receive revision suggestions and then viola! We send you the link for your film.

Context

By context, we’re talking about the issues, concerns, or struggles that are the realities of life for the Japanese person and how we can minister and share hope through those things. For the Japanese, religion is practical and pragmatic at best. And since we know that God can speak to every situation, we can effectively minister to the Japanese by speaking into their concerns and sharing the power of God through them.
With Context Content, we work with the local church to put together the film. The concept, the message and how we can effectively put it all together is a partnership project.
Either way. If you have a vision for it, we can see about helping you develop it so that we can create an effective video. Occasionally, we may approach churches with ideas and see where God leads!

Advance/Promote

Our desire is to help you advance your church’s mission in your community. We want to help you promote your church, events, etc., to your community.
In general, we can help produce welcome videos, “how to get to our church” videos, announcements, etc. If you have another idea, put in a project request and we will see what we can do!
For this type of content, we do ask that our transportation fees be reimbursed. If the church/organization is able to make any offering, that is greatly appreciated, though not required.

GTAC makes content for Japanese audiences. We do use subtitles for Japanese who are interested in English, and also for foreigners living in Japan. However, except for special circumstances, we do not make content for audiences outside of Japan.
With Advance/Promote content, we work on a 1:1 ratio of Promotional content to Gospel-Centered content. This means that for every promotional content we create to advance your church’s mission, we want to create one testimony or Gospel-centered content video with you. In other words, we don’t do unlimited promotional content, as this is not the aim of the ministry.
